Nelson Mandela International Day, 18th July 2018 – Madiba’s birthday, gave us all the opportunity to reach out to those in our communities in a positive, uplifting manner for 67 minutes, as a tribute to the manner in which Madiba devoted 67 years of his life to serving others. Mosia Mokete from Thabanatsoana QwaQwa a beneficiary of Southern African Association of Youth Clubs learnership program at SAAYC Makeneng Centre shared his day with young people at Boiketlo Village.
Mokete said the purpose of the tournament was to raise funds for children who were in dire need for school uniform, beneficiaries were from Mookoli Senior Secondary and Mabela Intermediate School. Participating teams were Matebeleng Masters, Tseseng SAPS, Mabela Intermediate School teachers and Buthelezi EMS. Tseseng SAPS won the final 05:02 against Buthelezi EMS this took place at Mabela Sports ground on the 21st June. Hollywood Bet QwaQwa supported the event and suggested that we have more of these tournaments that will benefit the needy ‘KG’ said.
Mr. Ndaba Abel SAAYC centre manager said young people should take a lead and be the change they want to see. We chose to support this Soccer Tournament because of the power of the community that develops when we have a collective voice that empowers the voice of the individual. Yes, we can solve challenges we are faced with as youth. But there is something powerful and profound that we wish to revive “UBUNTU”

The centre was hosting Spelling Bee Competition for grade4-6 prizes on the 22nd October 2016 at Makeneng Primary Hall participating schools were Makeneng, Selebalo and Sekgothadi Public school with ten (10) learners each.read more
